Earlier we brought you,
8 essential steps to spring garden preparation
Now we’d like to elaborate on the process a little by showing you some pre-spring flower bed preperation picture j-pegs.
First we recommended that you write down some notes.
The following photos show the order we used to clean and clear one of our existing Garden flower beds.
- First we recommended that you write down some notes.
- Use a rake and a heavy tarp to move all the leaves, branches and anything else that has gathered over the winter.
- Once the ground is clear, it’s time to prepare the soil.
- We are mixing about 1/3 organic composte to 2/3 organic soil we actually harvested from around the property. This helped to reduce our carbon foot print.
- You should rely on a soil test to determine any additional nutrients that your soil may need. Remember that soil will leach a certain amount of nutrients out during a growing season and even over the winter.
- Once you preform these and the 8 essential steps mentioned in the main article. Your garden area should be just about ready for planning your garden layout!
